Storm & Hail Damage Roof Repair in Sherman, TX
Post-event assessment and documented repair across Sherman, Denison, Van Alstyne and the corridor towns along US 75.
After a Cell Moves Through Grayson County
Texas leads the nation in major hail events, and spring in Grayson County reliably produces cells that put hail strikes and wind lift across whole neighborhoods in a matter of minutes. The problem for the property owner is that none of it is visible from the ground. You cannot see bruising in the mat. You cannot see whether a crease has broken the seal on a course. Sherman Roofing Texas exists in that gap: we climb it, we document what is actually there slope by slope with dated photographs, and we give you a written report and an itemized quote. What we do not do is act as your adjuster, because Texas law does not permit a roofing contractor to fill that role on property it may also work on.
What a Storm Assessment Covers
Every assessment produces a record built to be read by someone who was not on the roof.
Slope-by-slope hail documentation
Each elevation gets surveyed separately, because hail almost always hits directionally. We mark test squares, count strikes, and photograph them with a reference scale so the images mean something to a third party.
Wind-lift and crease inspection
Wind damage hides better than hail. We check for creased courses and broken seal strips by hand, since a shingle can be compromised while still lying flat and looking perfect from the driveway.
Soft metals check
Gutters, downspouts, vent caps, turbines and flashing take visible dents at hail sizes that may or may not have compromised the shingle mat. These give an objective record of the event.
Collateral damage record
Screens, fascia, siding, garage doors and air conditioning fins are photographed as part of the same record, because they corroborate what happened at the property on that date.
Attic and interior check
Where there is access, we look at the underside of the deck and at ceilings for staining that indicates water is already coming through. Interior damage changes the urgency of everything else.
Emergency dry-in and tarping
Where the covering is genuinely open, we get the area dried in or tarped so the interior stops taking water while the rest of the process runs.
Dated, organized photo report
You receive the images organized by slope with the date attached, in a form you can forward. Loose phone pictures do not serve you when somebody else needs to review them.
Itemized repair or replacement quote
The scope is written out line by line at the same detail level an insurer expects, covering materials, labor, decking allowance, disposal and permit.
Adjuster meeting on site
If your carrier sends an adjuster out, we will be on the roof with them and walk the same slopes. We answer questions about the condition of the roof; we do not negotiate the claim.
Repair or replacement execution
Once the scope is settled we do the work, whether that is a handful of slopes or the whole system, and the completed work is photographed the same way the damage was.
How Storm Work Runs
- 1
The assessment
We get out to the property, survey every slope, and build the photo record. Expect an hour or so on site. You get the written report regardless of what happens next, and there is no charge for it.
- 2
Your decision and your insurer
With the report in hand you decide whether to file. If you do, notify your carrier promptly and check your policy for its own requirements. We supply the documentation and the itemized quote; the claim itself is between you and your insurer.
- 3
The repair
Once scope and schedule are set, our people do the work. Most storm repairs are a one or two day job, and dry-in happens the same day anything is opened. You get the completion photographs and the workmanship warranty in writing at the end.
Why Our Storm Documentation Is Worth Having
The record is built to be reviewed by someone else
Dated, scaled, slope-labelled photographs are a different thing from a contractor's assurance that there is damage up there. Whatever you decide to do, you own a real record of your roof's condition on that date.
We stay on the right side of the adjuster line
Texas Insurance Code is explicit that a contractor may not act as a public adjuster on property it might also repair. We document, we quote, we meet the adjuster on the roof, and we stop there. A company that promises to handle your claim is telling you how it reads the law.
No deductible games
Waiving, rebating or absorbing a deductible is a Class B misdemeanour in Texas. We will not offer it, and we would treat any competitor who does as a warning rather than a bargain.
- Insured
- Dated photo documentation
- Free assessment
- Itemized written quotes

Find Out What the Storm Actually Did
Guessing from the driveway is not a plan, and neither is the assessment of whoever knocked on your door that afternoon. We will survey every slope, build a dated photo record, and give you a written report whether or not you ever hire us.
